Weekly Communications

Dear Parents,

We have raised: £92 Towards Red Nose Day in school today. Thank you for your contributions to this national fundraising event.
We have had lots of visitors in school this week, Jen Holder came to talk about Hope in  Collective Worship and Mr Chubb the CEO for the Dales Academies Trust spent the day in school getting to know the children and staff. He really enjoyed his day in school and we were glad to welcome him. He will be back to do a Collective Worship for us in a few weeks time.

We will be welcoming you all into school for Parents Evening in the next few weeks and ask you to sign up for a timed appointment via the Gateway.
The Caretaker, Mr Jeff Horner leaves today and we would all like to thank him for his hard work over the last few years.

Two members of staff in Mercury class will be leaving in the next few weeks to take up new positions: Ms Llewellyn and Miss Smith. The staff and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for all their hard work. We wish them well in their new roles and hope they will continue to ‘Shine like stars in the universe’. We hope you all have a relaxing weekend.

Kind regards,
Miss Gledhill

Message from Simon Wilson, PS 0882
Northallerton Safer Neighbourhood Team
Northallerton Police Station

Recently we have dealt with 2 incidents involving primary aged students who shared indecent images on Instagram. Parents became aware of this and correctly reported the matter to the police however between the call being made and the police attending they deleted the child’s Instagram account which lost all possible evidence and the only way of tracing the recipient of the photos. They also sent a message to the recipient making comments about his inappropriate behaviour towards their child. He then deleted his Instagram account. Our advice would be to take the phone off your child and do nothing with the phone or social media accounts until the police have had chance to attend and decide if an examination of the device is required. This will assist in preserving photos, chat logs etc and recipient account details which will give us a greater probability of obtaining a successful outcome to the investigation.
