Mathematics follows a planned course through the school, in accordance with the National Numeracy Strategy. A number of commercially produced schemes are used and these are supplemented by material from a variety of other sources, most significantly teacher produced work tailored to suit particular groups of children. Care is taken to make the work challenging and suitable to each child’s aptitudes and abilities.  The importance of basic computational skills and a knowledge of number facts is recognised and the children are encouraged to apply these to real life situations.
