School dinners currently cost £11 per week (£2.20 per day), and the money is payable through MCAS. Annual price increases for school dinners are applicable from September of each year. When a child is absent during the week, the dinner money will be carried forward as a credit. All Reception and KS1 children receive a free school meal. We cater for any food allergies and offer a vegetarian menu.
Visit the https://mellorscatering.co.uk/ to see our current menu. We also serve a vegetarian option and jacket potatoes with tuna, cheese or baked beans every day. We also serve baguettes at least once a week and offer packed lunches for most school visits.
We host monthly Friends and Family lunches for each class – see the newsletter for dates. You are most welcome to join us for lunch – adult meals cost just £3.
Packed lunches may be brought and eaten in school. Drinks need to be brought in unbreakable containers. Alternatively, water can be provided to drink with meals. At break time all of the KS1 children are provided with fruit. We have a number of children in school with nut allergies, so request that nuts are not sent to school please.
Children from families receiving benefits may qualify for free school meals. If you think you are entitled to free school meals please contact the school office and we will help you to apply.
